First Annual Women’s Football Clinic Slated for July 24
The West Virginia Wesleyan football office announced plans for the first annual Women's Only Football Clinic. Women are invited to attend the event, which will be held on Friday, July 24 from 7 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. at the Virginia Thomas Center for the Performing Arts.
A reception will begin at 7 p.m. with stadium refreshments followed by the Clinic to begin at 7:30 p.m.

Wesleyan Announces 2009 Football Schedule
West Virginia Wesleyan has finalized its 2009 football schedule, according to Ken Tyler, Director of Athletics. The 11-game schedule will feature eight West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference games, seven road contests, a first-ever meeting with Liberty University and a home night game with Shepherd at Buckhannon-Upshur High School.

Randy Tenney Named Director of Athletic Development
West Virginia Wesleyan College Director of Athletics Ken Tyler has named head baseball coach Randy Tenney as Director of Athletic Development.
In this position, Tenney will assist Tyler in all athletic department fundraising activities and will be directly responsible for the new Corporate Partner program and one major athletic department fundraising event each year.

Godwin Inducted Into the National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society
Senior linebacker Donovan Godwin (Buckhannon, WV, Buckhannon-Upshur) was inducted into the 2009 Hampshire Honor Society by the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame.
The Honor Society is comprised of graduating seniors from schools across the country who were starters or key reserves and maintained a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of at least 3.20. A total of 564 players from 266 schools qualified for membership.

Softball Finishes Season Ranked #17 in National Poll
The Wesleyan softball team was rewarded Monday for their successful season, coming in at #17 in the final National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division II Top 25 poll.
Head coach Steve Warner's (pictured) Lady Bobcats completed the season with an overall record of 45-15 and advanced to the NCAA regional finals, coming one game short against ninth-ranked Kutztown (PA).
